On October 31st, we had the 7-Hour Roguelike. It was pretty successful, with quite a few participants. A lot of people tried doing new, crazy things.

We discussed the issues discovered on Friday (sshing to localhost in psuedo-distributed mode), and the efforts to deal with them. Benjamin Lannon, ITL build maintainer will be working with several CDC members to resolve this issue, hopefully before next meeting on Tuesday.

We discussed the Apache Hadoop Documentation and set up a time to begin creating a small cluster in the ITL for practice. We are meeting in the ITL at 6 PM on Friday. Please read the links below.

We discussed our reading about Apache Hadoop, MapReduce, and general distributed computing topics. Concluding that our time should be spent setting up an Apache Hadoop cluster (with the hope of writing some of our own software later), we moved on to topics related to actually setting up our test cluster in the ITL.
